ups and downs, but never any frowns...
Life has been anything but dull - juggling careers as diverse as ballet dresser, medieval singer, and illustrator, all while raising a bustling family and fostering many more. Through the chaos, laughter has been the glue, turning challenges into stories worth telling.
nicola's story
Painting and writing have always been my greatest passions, but my journey has led me through a wide variety of roles. I’ve worked as a chambermaid, cook, barmaid, driver, gallery and shop assistant, secretary, personal assistant, dresser for the Royal Scottish Ballet, print designer, illustrator, publisher, medieval banquet singer, events organiser, and teacher—to name just a few! But above all, I am a proud mum to three wonderful children and a foster mum to many more.
Through all of life’s challenges, our family has always held onto our sense of humour, finding joy even in the most chaotic moments. I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing experiences I’ve had and the fascinating people I’ve met along the way.
The beautiful chaos of family life has been the inspiration behind my first published series, Diary of a Stressed-Out Mother, followed by my debut comedy romance, With Both Feet, and Deep Water. Writing these books has been an absolute joy, and I hope my readers love them as much as I do. With any luck, there will be many more to come!
